Soundgarden with Junk Orchestra

GET YOUR GROOVE ON with Junk Orchestra’s Soundgarden!

Soundgarden is a circular collection of tuned musical instruments made entirely from recycled materials. Rescued from the city industry, the reinvented objects become a melodic array of sonic delights for all!

You can also learn to make your own maraca or drum to take home with you in one of the Junk Orchestra's pop up workshops over the day.

Learn how to DJ with UD Music

Ever fancied yourself as a DJ? Well here's your chance. RXWNTREE is a musician and a multi genre producer for the likes of Skepta and Emeli Sande as well as a course leader for UD. RXWNTREE will be running a series of short workshops aimed at demystifying DJing. So get behind the decks, put the headphones on and play out some tunes to the Emerge East crowd.

UD is a London-based music organisation bringing communities together around Black music and Black music culture, and we are so excited to have them play and share their skills at Emerge East!

Barking and Dagenham Youth Dance (BDYD) is a champion small grassroots charity making positive changes for the Barking & Daghenham community by offering high quality dance, sports and fitness-based projects, events and activities.

Learn how to make a cushion cover, a phone or laptop case all out luxury fabric off-cuts!

Yodomo is a social venture on a mission to find circular solutions for textile industry surplus by working with creative professionals and communities to find positive ways to reuse these materials. Yodomo is nominated for the Marie Claire Sustainability Awards 2023, was Highly Commended in the Arts and Culture category at the Tech4Good Awards 2021 and is currently supported by Innovate UK, the UK government innovation agency, to develop our R&D into reducing textile waste with communities in the UK
